Our Herd Sires:
Sugarfield TSX
Sugarfied TSX joined us in July 2007. A Tipper grandson sired by the excellent Sugarfield Prototype and out of a Ram H Dakota doe, this big fellow is shaping up to be a serious contender in the show ring and in the breeding barn. TSX won Grand Champion Boer Buck at Markham Fair in 2007, as well as Reserve Junior Champion Buck at the 2007 Canadian Caprine Classic. Update: TSX placed second in his class at the 2008 West Nationals in June (many thanks to Tobin and Erin Schlegel for taking him and showing him for us!!!), and was Grand Champion Boer buck at the 2008 Canadian Caprine Classic in August. His first kid, a 50% doe we call Unice, was Grand Champion Percentage doe at the same show. TSX is putting some extremely good kids on the ground for us and is heading back out to work the first week of October for March 2009 kids.
Sugarfield the Texan
We purchased "Tex" from Essandea Farm's herd dispersal, after admiring him for the past year. A rare son of the 2007 National Champion Boer Buck, Sugarfield Old 100, we are very excited to add Tex to our buck lineup.
Chevrefleurs Idole
We have been fortunate enough to acquire Chevrefleurs Idole as our newest herdsire in September 2008. Idole is a son of Chevrefleurs Explosion, the Reserve Grand Champion buck at Expo Quebec 2007 and Chevrefleurs Iris, Grand Champion doe at St. Hyacinthe 2008. Coming from consistently proven, correct bloodlines, we are looking forward to using Idole on select does this wnter to add mass and overall structure in our herd. Thank you to Gerald Berube of Quebec for giving us the opportunity to own this excellent buck.
Sugarfield Silverstone
This buck exhibits extreme length and depth of body; although he has been sold on as herdsire for another herd, we have several of his offspring here now in our doe herd that have developed into very good quality brood does.
